Ask Freddie Mitchell ... from college football at UCLA, playing the Rose Bowl to his years with the Philadelphia Eagles, NFC Championship and playing in the Super Bowl. Now, "Freddie Mitchell Brother's BBQ" ... get the straight scoop from the man himself, right HERE!
It definitely comes down to how you use the guys you got. I think McCoy got selected by the best team that could use him. The eagles love dumping off to their running backs and utilizing them in the short game and in screens etc. Brandon Gibson got taken in the 6th round i believe by the Eagles. He doesnt burn you but he is a strong and workhorse as a possesion reciever who can escape tackles and make plays after the catch.
ReplyDeleteIf they ask him to be a Randy Moss and just use his speed he would end up looking like a bust. But really any player has to be used to their strengths to be effective...add in chemsitry and a bunch of factors. But it is nice to see the Eagles go out and look for some young skill position guys...like last years DeSaun Jackson and this years Maclin, McCoy and the TE from Florida who I cant recall the name of right now. But either way gotta root for the Eagz. Lets just hope a team will swoop and pick you up Freddie! Its not a matter of how good you are but how they try to use you. Of course you probably know ur strengths better than most people. Sometimes it just seems to come down to havn a little luck...and a tough mind to push through the tough times. Good luck man

If you know Freddie Mitchell you know he was talking more about himself in this video than any 2009 draft. He has always maintained he was not utilized to his full potential.
ReplyDeleteHey Freddie:
ReplyDeleteI was the author who wrote the "Top 5 Not-So-Good (But Lovable) Eagle Players of Recent". The one that you found on HULIQ that you put on your twitter.
I was wondering if you would like to take part in a mini-interview. I have a Philadelphia Eagles blog and I think fans would be OVERJOYED if they could hear of you again.
The interview would only be 6-7 questions, and I would just e-mail them to you and you just email me back the answers. That simple.
If you would like to fulfill my dreams of this interview, please e-mail me back at Alec82@gmail.com
Would really make many happy.
Wow, football sounds as political as ballet was to me.

ReplyDeleteHey Fred if you feel you wasn't utilized to your full potential then why aren't you singed with another team. You still good people though. spoke your mind in the locker room interviews though. Wish you luck.
ReplyDeleteFred-ex - We loved your time here. It was a lot of fun and you did some great things. You kept it exciting and to us, that's what Philly football SHOULD be all about. Wish you were still around and don't understand completely why you're not still here. If you are ever back up in the area - the fishing crew at garbagefish.com would love to take you out fishing and do a video segment of you on a garbage fish adventure. All the best - the crew at: garbagefish.com

For all you FredEx haters, please just stick it up your azz. Regardless of Freddie's stats, comments, antics, etc. he made it to the top of the football ladder (NFL). So, unless you did as well, just shutup please. He wasn't the best NFL player ever, but he worked hard and enjoyed his time as a player. Maybe his career would've been longer with a team without so much talent at WR. We'll never know. I'm a friend of Freddie's and I can honestly say he's a very nice, easy-going, respectable person. That makes him OK in my book.
ReplyDeleteYo Fred, you could be the worst person ever to ask about an NFL draft simply because you thought that you should have been drafted higher than you were, so obviously you know nothing about talent. I expected you to show up in that new football league but even they wouldn't draft you. I only have two requests, please continue doing these blog posts because I need something to laugh at, and please continue to disguise yourself as a Black Crocodile Dundee while shooting your videos. Thanks for your time.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Freddy Kruger said he wants his hat back.
Freddie,
ReplyDeleteI heard you yesterday on 610 and thought to myself that I wish you had your own show here in Philly. I love how you don't care and spoke the truth about what happened when you were an Eagle. Donovan is so coddled by the organization and nobody will rock the boat against precious McNabb. Keep it real champ!
