a Freddie Mitchell Fan Writes ...
Micah Warren from GCobb.com. I always thought you should still be in the NFL. I think the "mouth" aspect was blown way out of proportion. I always had a tough time believing that the third WR on a Super Bowl team didn't have a place in the NFL. Doesn't make sense.
Hang in there and keep staying in shape. And don’t open yourself up to the attacks on your blog too much. As a PR guy by trade, I can tell you that there are people who are going to want to attack you just because you are an athlete and not a real person. You don’t have feelings and don’t get offended. I know it’s tough to remember, but people are idiots and feel better laying into an athlete or celeb. So don’t give these morons TOO much access or they’ll just start lobbing grenades.
Check out my authentic Freddie Mitchell jersey! I attached a pic. You can tell I got that your rookie year because the NFL crest doesn’t have the white around it. They first started that in 2002. Yeah I’m a nerd.
Hang in there, bud! If you ever have a message that you’d like me to get of GCobb.com, you can always drop me a line.

Freddie Mitchell Speaks ...
Dear Freddy,
As the people's champ do you feel as though you let Philadelphia fans down by being a rd 1 draft pick and panning out to be a so called bust? With the NFL relying on speed nowadays do you really think you have a shot of getting back into the NFL? What are your regrets about playing for the Eagles?
First off, this is a pretty lame question. I did everything that the Eagles asked of me and after all, I can’t throw the ball to myself … lol … the NFL doesn’t just rely on speed, but I can still put down a 4.4. mile. Regrets … ?

Yo Fred-Ex,
I just want to say keep your chin up brother. I know what its like not to be respected at your job by your teamates. Nobody respects me either, but I know I'm the best at what I do and 4 and 26 will always be my personal mantra!
If you ever want to hang out Michael's on Street Road has an awesome Happy Hour and the first drink is on me!
Did you ever consider putting out a book or video of your workout tips? I really want to maximize my physique and look like "The People's Champ".
Do you think its wrong top wear a sweater vest in the winter? The guys I work with make fun of me when I do. They make comments like, "I look like Im in grade school." or "I was Student of the Month."
Personally its a Nautica Sweater Vest so you know I'm representing. Why don't they understand that a sweater vest is a sharp piece of apparel?
Big J.D.
I appreciate the love … when ever people hate on you it makes you stronger. What you wear doesn’t matter … you’ll be a trend setter and you’ll be surprised, they’ll wear the same when you aren’t around …

How does fan mail work? I sent a wedding invitation to TO at the Novacare complex back during the 2005 preseason... do you think he ever saw it, or did he just ignore it?
Terrel is pretty good at reading his fan mail … you should have invited a small time guy, like myself … I would have attended … lol …

Whatever happened to Freddiemitchell.com? When you became a man-child in that Minnesota game and took over I was rockin' the fredex hat and shirt haha After you were released I tried getting on the site and grabbing some more merchandise for friends but it's unavailable.
Also (and I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet) what was your inspiration for the "fro hawk"?
I will be getting merchandise soon and I will also have a new website. The “fro hawk” was something to set another trend … all the players started wearing the Mohawk the following year. Hopefully you’ll see me in another team soon …I have been working hard and I am ready for next season … and, I’ll have a lot of “new tricks” in my bag … lol!

Hey Freddie. Would you be interested at all in helping me or something with my Eagles blog. I would love your inside take on stuff...and I have 45 followers who would then notice you and likely come to your blog. Please let me know by replying to this comment. Thanks a lot, FredEx! :)
I will come by anybody’s blog that doesn’t belittle the athletes and that understands that they give 100% …

Hey Freddie. There is a lot I want to say, but in order to keep it short, I just want to say YOUR THE MAN!!! Stay cool.
take care,

Thanks Jason, hopefully you enjoyed the memories … all the good memories …

Hey Freddie. Please tell me you remember the "Freddie Mitchell stole my girl" sign from a preseason game at the linc about 6 years back?? That was one of the highlights of attending an Eagles game. All I can remember is you giving the guys next to us your gloves for making that sign.. Pretty cool move.
Later Fred-Ex
Chas
You know … that was a classic! Hopefully, I left you with a lot of memories at the “linc” …. BTW … how is your girlfriend … lol!
The Top 5 Radio and TV Analysts in Philly ...
OK, here’s the real deal …. the top 4 or 5 radio and TV analysts that really know what is going on with the Philly sports scene … these are guys that the players and the people who know what the hell they are talking about agree are the ones you should listen to …
Ray Didinger … Comcast ….
Reuben Frank … WIP …
Hugh Douglas … he retired in 2006, but still was one of the TOP 5
Darrick Gunn … Comcast
Sorry, I couldn’t come up with the TOP 10, but there just isn’t that kind of quality of reporting in Philly … there are a lot of reporters, but they really have no impact in Philly …

How does it feel to amass the same stats over 5 years that many receivers amass over a year or less?
Tim, it feels great knowing that I brought my team to 5 NFC East Championships and 1 Super Bowl … so many fans look at individual stats and not at the big picture of team work
It was only 4 NFC Championship teams ... lol!

Freddie, you're the man! The miracle of 4th and 26 is one of the greatest receptions in Eagles history. Why don't you think the Eagles used you as much as they could have?
Thanks Eagle … I think that the powers that be made that decision, possibly because my relationship with Donovan wasn’t all that comfortable …
Yes! Fredex is back, baby!
The Flav
Flav, thanks for following me … it is the fans that make the game great!
Freddie you were one of the best receivers in eagles history. Its a shame you were not used properly when you were here and then couldn't stay in the league. You should still be playing.
Why don't you play anymore do teams just not recognize your immense talent. I mean in your incredible career you made so many spectacular plays. The videos on this site prove that.
Thanks! I hope to play again … I am training everyday and am at 100%. I wake up every day missing the smell of the football field …
Freddie, you were always one of my favorites. You had fun playing the game. After the catch that belt thing you use to do was the shit. My question is are you done playing for good or are you considering playing anywhere?
I am in playing shape right now and trying to get into a training camp. Hopefully I won’t be blackballed like the past years …
Freddie, you really need to get back into the NFL. The Eagles never utilized you correctly. I still have an 84 F. Mitchell jersey that I wear to every Eagles game I go to. The People's Champ!!!! 4th and 26 will forever be the greatest play in Eagles history.
Thanks … it is you, my loyal fans that make me work harder!
Freddie,
There is no doubt I was and still am your biggest NFL fan. I can't admit to having seen all of your college games, but cut me some slack, I'm only 21 years old now. You are responsible for the 4 most exciting offensive Eagles plays in my lifetime. Sure you get all that credit for 4th and 26 and rightfully so BUT do people really forget about you throwing for a 40+ yard touchdown to Westbrook on MNF in Miami? Or you catching L.J. Smith's forward fumble vs the Vikings in the playoffs (or the fact that you caught your own TD that game as well)? What about you receiving that record breaking 14 second scramble pass for Donovan?
I remember constant arguments (on your behalf) with friends and eagles fans. I told them all to watch the last two games of the 2004 season well because they were going to be your first real "starts" and sure enough you delivered a touchdown catch in each!
You were mis-used throughout your career in Philadelphia, and it is a true shame that you are out of the professional game.
Thanks … I’ll be back on the field again … I’m in shape and ready to play!

what up fredEX. i still got ur jersey. its a shame the birds never used u to ur potential. they do that alot(always). dont get me wrong im a hardcore eagles fan but coach reid does alot of shit that gets me going. what do u think of jeremy maclin?? u think reid is gonna put him to use or what??
Jay, I think he will be OK, but it really takes time to get the full potential out of a receiver
You da man Freddie!
Thanks Ryan!
Freddie ...i loved the dallas scramble...Greatest moment ever.Did u ever try and talk to coach Reid about gettin back to philly ? Hell it worked for trot eatin some humble pie.
Kory, a big misconception here is that I was cut from the team, when in fact, I asked Coach Reid to be released. Thinking back on it now, I should have gone to the media and informed them first that I was asking to be released, rather than it looking like I was being cut from the team.
Fred,
Is there anything about your Eagles career that you wish you could do over again or take back??
4th and 26... still amazing
Thanks man, I think the only thing that I regret is lack of a personal relationship with Donovan. Personal lives and football lives are not always the same.
Dear Freddie,
Why didn't you try harder when you were with the Eagles? Also, why in the HELL did you call out Rodney friggin' Harrison the week before the Super Bowl? Looking back, does it still seem like a good idea?
Shane, don’t make yourself look dumb … “try harder” ? I made Harrison intercept those balls ???
Freddie: Why were you blackballed from the league after the Eagles let you go?
I don’t know, I’m still asking myself that question …
I'm sure your hearing a bunch of crap from fans. Whatever though, you did something they never could do and you made me celebrate for the Eagles louder than ever with 4th & 26 and McNabb's 14 second scramble to hit you 60 yards later...I think some of the fans forget what you did. Thanks FredEx.
Dave, thanks man …
dude you had what most people would kill for and now you can't get it back...did you ever thinking of putting it all down on paper..the death if a dream by not taking it seriously..I would love to ghost write it let me know
Jordan, I am planning on writing a book in the future … keep in touch …
GOD BLESS!! HEY MAN MY NAME IS NOEL , I AM GLAD THAT YOU GOT TO LIVE YOUR DREAM DOG, I AM A DIE HARD 31 YR OLD FAN. THESE GUYS ARE GONNA HATE ON YOU AND THEY CAN'T EVEN PLAY FOOTBALL. YOU SIGNED A JACKET FOR MY NEPHEW BACK IN THE DAY , AND THAT WAS WHATS UP ,YOU WAS HOLLARING AT SOME CHICK WHILE YOU WERE DOING IT ..LOL.. I HOPE YOUR FAMILY IS WELL.. FEEL FREE TO HOLLA
Noel, you’re the greatest! People don’t realize how important my fans are to me …
Freddy,
When are you coming back to TU? Saw you at a basketball game last year...don't worry about what people who talk shit have to say, 4th and 26 is forever to us true Eagles fans. Either way, why don't you open up a bbq shop in Philly, even though we already got like a million? tua39055@temple.edu, get back.
Thanks Rob! Come on down to Lakeland Florida and have a taste of my BBQ down here …
When you were a substitute teacher, did any kids ever hand in a test and say "I just want to thank my #2 Pencil for being so great"?
Kyle, the substitute teacher thing was a big rumor … I did an appearance at the school, but my main reason for being there was to gather some valuable information on my little girls Mother’s, brother. I guess you could call it Freddie Mitchell undercover cop!
WOW, what a response within a few hours !
Freddie, YOU are still a star, just delete the guys without a profile. People love you and YOUR dreams will be a reality.

FredEx Live! Wow. What an idea. I know some of the fans are bagging on you, but don't give up. This may be the best blog ever.
Thanks Beagle! It’s time people learned the truth about Freddie Mitchell and I’m in it for the long haul …
Hey Freddie. Regardless of all the other nonsense, 4th & 26 and that 14-second scramble are 2 of the best plays I've ever seen.
Check out my Eagles blog at www.2minutestomidnightgreen.com
I'd love to talk with you personally. I'm an aspiring Eagles writer and I have my own site (above) and write for GCobb.com as well as having my writing featured on FOX, CBS, ESPN.com, and live on SportsCenter.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks Bob! I’ll check out your blog …
Hey man. I didnt think you were bad at all. That Todd Pinkston tho..... That dude was lame man. Do you still talk to any eagles players?
Thanks for following me. I still talk to a lot of the Eagles players and sad to say that many of them are not happy …

Freddie whats up. Just wondering how come you talked so much, for a guy who put up average season numbers in five years? Also what happen with the CFL. I was looking forward to seeing you back on the field.
Hey Vick, would you rather I run my mouth or kill innocent dogs? You need to look at the big picture … how many games that the team wins … that’s what it is all about …
If a team came calling right now, are you in playing shape?
I am at 100%, running sprints, miles and I am ready for training camp
is it true you are opening a hair salon in philadelphia?
I was looking at opening a hair salon, but I just had too many business ventures on my plate at the time
Good to see you're trying to clear up some things that are out there about you right now.
I write for a website known as www.phinallyphilly.com and would love to have an extensive interview with you.

What did you think of the Eagles latest draft? Was Andy Reid a fair coach? How difficult is it for a collage WR to pick up the West Coast Offence?
Jeff, Andy Reid is a very fair coach and I loved him to death. Looking back on things, I think that I speak for myself as well as most other players, we wish that we had the same type of relationship that he had with Donovan McNabb … we’d probably all still have jobs … lol!
I wasn’t happy with the latest draft. The NFL has a lot of problems and it is harder than people think … fans expect great things right away and it really takes 3 – 4 years to really get what you want out of a receiver … bottom line … the Eagles need to win now …
That's it for now ... will answer more later .. gotta go work out ... you can follow me on:

Ask Freddie Mitchell
Everyday, I read old newspaper clips and blogs that are written by people who DO NOT know the real FREDDIE MITCHELL.
